Specializing in Doner kebab and halal cuisine, this inviting restaurant masterfully brings together the bold, fragrant spices and fresh ingredients that define Turkish cooking. The ambiance at Mediterranean Turkish Grill is cozy and welcoming, with warm lighting and tasteful décor that makes every meal feel like a special occasion. The staff's genuine friendliness and attentiveness add a personal touch, making you feel right at home from the moment you step in. Real cloth napkins and freshly baked house bread, served warm and fragrant, elevate the dining experience even further.
The menu is an enticing blend of traditional Turkish dishes and Mediterranean specialties. Start your meal with mezeller appetizers like the Patlican Salata—a delicately grilled eggplant salad infused with garlic and tangy lemon—or the flaky and indulgent Sigara Boregi, buttery phyllo wrapped around feta and parsley then deep fried to golden perfection. For fans of crispy, savory bites, the Falafel and Calamari come highly recommended.
Among entrees, the Mixed Grill Platter shines as a celebration of perfectly grilled lamb, beef, and chicken, served on a bed of fluffy rice—the meats delightfully juicy, smoky, and tender to the bite. The famed Doner Kebab, slow-grilled on a vertical rotisserie and sliced thin, captures the essence of Turkish street food with each savory, melt-in-your-mouth morsel. Those craving something heartier won’t want to miss the Lamb Shank, served wrapped in eggplant and bathed in a rich, tomato-based sauce that deepens its flavor.
Seafood lovers can enjoy the palate-pleasing Salmon Grill or the delicately marinated and chargrilled Tilapia, each accompanied by rice that soaks up the meat’s luscious juices. The restaurant also offers authentic Turkish favorites like Lahmacun (Turkish flatbread topped with spiced minced meat), Iskender Kebab, and delightful side dishes such as Baba Ghanoush, Turkish Shepherd’s Salad, and the refreshing Shrimp Salad.
Reviews speak volumes about the dining experience here. Customers consistently praise the generous portions and the juicy, flavorful meats that burst with every bite. One diner shared how the Doner Gyro and warm house bread arrived fresh and inviting, complementing the meal perfectly. Another highlighted the cozy atmosphere, noting the attentive and cheerful service which made their lunch memorable. Visitors also appreciate the thoughtful touches, such as freshly brewed Turkish coffee and tea, rounding out the meal with classic Turkish hospitality.
Mediterranean Turkish Grill perfectly balances authentic, robust flavors with a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where the food doesn’t just fill you up—it fills you with satisfaction and the joy of discovery. Whether you're stopping by for a casual lunch or a flavorful dinner close to the airport, this restaurant invites you to savor Turkey’s culinary treasures bite by beautiful bite.
We love Turkish food, and we have been Pittsburgh’s Turkish kabab house as the bar to evaluate other places. We have been to many places, but always felt those places fail short on some aspects. But this restaurant has passed the bar. The portion is big, but more importantly the meat is very juicy. When you bite into the meat, no matter it is gyros, lambs, your mouth immediately fill with the moisture, the flavor, the taste. The naan is huge, freshly baked and still feels hot in hand. Baba ganoush is delicious too.
The food is wonderful here! The bread is freshly baked as you order, so its served warm. The Doner/Gyro sandwich and the grape leaves appetizer were both excellent. Great service and friendly staff. Nicely decorated, cozy atmosphere. They even use real cloth napkins. Will definitely come back whenever we are in town. They are located close to the San Antonio airport.
My wife and I ate here for lunch today and just loved the flavors here. The atmosphere was nice, the staff was super friendly and the food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back.
Such great food and great service. My husband and I shared the mixed grill. It was so good!! The beef was my favorite though. The dolmas with lemon squeezed on top was delicious. Our waiter was the best. He was so nice and easy to talk to. He just seemed like a genuine and happy guy. We will definitely be back!
As soon as I walked in I noticed the place was nice, clean, and well lit. I ordered tea and Doner Kerbab plate. Fresh hot bread was delivered to my table and in short time my order arrived nice and hot. This came with Kerbab on a bed of rice and garbanzo beans. The plate also had fresh salad, a fire roasted tomato, and a fire roasted chili pepper. The portions were huge. For dessert I ordered baklava. This was a nice treat to end the meal. Overall wonderful experience, great value, and authentic flavors.
What an awesome, hole in the wall, Mediterranean cuisine. You will not be disappointed. Turkish coffee was the bomb. The mixed meat plate, Turkish pizza, and Salmon was so unique and full of flavor. We also sampled the five dips and each was outstanding. Very ambient and relaxed.
The Mediterranean Turkish restaurant offers an authentic dining experience featuring traditional Turkish Mediterranean cuisine. Located in a quieter section of a shopping area, the restaurant boasts a pleasant ambiance and is well-maintained, with a clean interior that adds to its appeal. Upon entering, I was promptly greeted and seated as the first customer of the day. After a brief wait, I placed my order for the feta plate as an appetizer. I also got the Mixer which includes a delightful mix of chicken, beef, and lamb. However, I recommend requesting that the appetizer be served in advance, as both the appetizer and main dish were delivered simultaneously. The establishment also provides complimentary bread, which is a nice touch. I suggest pairing it with the olive oil mixed with seasonings for a flavorful dipping experience, although it is worth noting that no additional condiments are provided. Hummus is available on the menu as well. Overall, this restaurant is a lovely choice for a casual date or a family outing. It offers ample seating and a comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic Turkish dining experience.
We stopped by for lunch this past Sunday. We aren't from San Antonio, so we really just chose this place because Mediterranean food offers a lot of Vegetarian options and was near the airport. The parking lot for the entire complex was empty, which was a potentially bad sign. We walked inside and the gentleman behind the counter greeted us and told us to sit anywhere. We were the only ones dining in, but we noticed a few door dash orders coming through. Mind you, this building is older and in need of repairs and updates BUT the economy is trash and we can't hold that against anyone. We started with what was probably the best hummus I've ever had, fresh bread and Sigara Boregi (which was delicious. The phyllo dough was flaky and crispy) I had the falafel plate, very much enjoyed it, my friend said his lamb was flavorful, and my boyfriend had the chicken tava. The portion sizes felt great. We were all full and satisfied without feeling like we overate or had a lot leftover to go to waste. We also stayed to chat for a while and never felt rushed to leave after wed finished eating. Service was polite and overall the experience was very enjoyable. What the restaurant lacks in appearance was made up 10 fold by the food. We will absolutely be back next time we re in San Antonio.
